Make-Ups, Refunds and Cancellations

Make-Ups for Once-A-Week Classes, Twice-A-Week Classes, and Drop-In Classes pre-paid for by the month

Students are fully responsible for their attendance. Students in a 7-week course are allowed 3 make-ups at a comparable level course. Students in an 8-week course are allowed 4 make-ups at a comparable level course. Students in a twice weekly, 4- to 5-week course are allowed 4 make-ups at a comparable level course.

Make-ups are subject to the following restrictions:
  1. 4- to 5-week course make-ups must be completed during the same calendar month as the course for which the student is registered and cannot be made up in the next 4- to 5-week session of the same course.
  2. 7- to 9-week course make-ups must be completed within 6 days of the last scheduled class meeting and cannot be made up in a future session of the same course.
  3. No make-ups can be taken at Intensives or Pranayama courses.
  4. Students should make up at the same level as their regularly scheduled class or at a level slightly below their regular class level, but not at a higher level.
  5. No make-ups for students enrolled in Intensives.

Make-ups do not need to be pre-arranged. Students going to a make-up class should check in with the new instructor to let them know which class is being made-up and any injuries, restrictions or medical conditions which affect the student.

Cancellation Policy for Once-A-Week Classes, Twice-A-Week Classes, Early Morning Intensives and Drop-In Classes paid for by the month

There are no extensions or credit to future months' classes for missed lessons. If you need to cancel your space in a course, call The Center immediately at (206) 526-9642 and leave a message giving your name and phone number(s) and from which course you are cancelling. You may also cancel by e-mail, writing us at info@yogaseattle.com leaving the same information as for telephone calls.

Credit in the form of class credits will be given from the point you are cancelling, to the end of the once- or twice-weekly course, intensive, or drop-in paid for monthly for the same person, and cannot be used for retail purchases or gift certificates. Class credits are good for a period of one year.

We do not give refunds for cancelling, nor for unused or missed classes. No exceptions will be made. A refund will be given only if the course(s) you requested are full for the month for which you are seeking admission, or are cancelled by The Center.

Refund and Cancellation Policy for Short Workshops of 2–6 hours taught by Center staff

Credit in the form of future classes will be given for all cancellations given at least 48 hours before the event is scheduled. No refunds will be given. For those cancelling within 48 hours of the event, no refund or credit will be issued. Cancellations are to be made via phone at (206) 526-9642 or e-mail at info@yogaseattle.com.

Refund and Cancellation Policy for Yoga Teacher Training Courses and Practice Intensives

Effective May 1, 2006, registrants for Teacher Training Courses and Practice Intensives are eligible to receive full credit toward a future intensive, minus a $100 cancellation fee, for cancellations six weeks or more before the start of the course. Notification of cancellation must be in writing (via snail mail or email) no later than six weeks before the course's start date. Please also notify the Center of cancellation by telephone as soon as possible. The credit must be taken within eighteen months of the cancellation and can be applied toward Teacher Training or Yoga Practice Intensives only.

If a student has a credit from the Center for having cancelled from a previous program, in the event that the future rescheduled course is cancelled, we will extend credit toward another course, but under no circumstance will we give a refund.

No credit will be given for cancellations less than one month before the start of the course.

We offer the option of refunds only when the Center cancels the Teacher Training Course or Practice Week for which a student originally registered.

Refund and Cancellation Policy for Guest Teacher Weekend Workshops

Refunds will be given in three (3) situations only:
  1. If the Workshop is already full, we will refund your full tuition.
  2. If you cancel your space and your written notification is postmarked three (3) weeks before the start of the Workshop or earlier, you will receive a 90% refund.
  3. If you cancel within three (3) weeks of the Workshop, we will give you a 90% refund only if you cancel your space, the program is full, and your space can be filled from our waiting list.
Except for these three (3) situations, there will be no refunds, nor will there be any credit toward future workshops intensives, or classes sponsored by The Center For Yoga of Seattle for cancelling. Cancellations due to medical reasons are considered in the same category as cancellations due to other reasons. For those who cancel within three (3) weeks of the event, if you do not receive a refund two (2) weeks after the event, it means that we were unable to fill your space.

Refund and Cancellation Policy for Private Lessons and Gift Certificates

Gift certificates expire in a period of one (1) year from purchase and are not refundable or transferable. Private lessons must be cancelled by giving a 24-hour advance notice of cancellation in order to be rescheduled or refunded.
