Visitors

Visiting Seattle?

Visitors to Seattle who are looking for a place to take a yoga class may drop-in to our regular, reserved-space Once Weekly and Twice Weekly classes (fee is $19 per class), in addition to our weekend Drop-Ins, (fee is $15 per class) which are open to local students. Visitors may not drop-in on our Early Morning Intensive courses (5:30AM and 7:00AM), our Afternoon Intensive (4:40pm - 5:50pm), or our Pranayama courses.

visitor – a person who lives outside of the Seattle area (i.e., more than a 1-hour drive from the Center in Washington state), typically visiting the Seattle area for vacation or on business.

If you have not studied Iyengar yoga in the recent past, please take only level-1&2 or slow-beginning classes.

Please keep in mind if you are dropping in on one of our reserved-space classes (i.e., the once-weekly or twice-weekly classes), you are a guest in an on-going structured learning environment for committed, Seattle-area students. Do not expect that the instructor will gear the whole class to meet your skill level. Please also:

  • arrive 10–15 minutes before the class start time
  • fill out a New Student Form (front and back sides), and
  • specificially tell the teacher that you are visiting Seattle from (Portland, for example), and whether you have any injuries or relevant medical conditions.

To attend any of our level-3 classes (including weekend drop-ins), you must meet the requirements for our own level-3 students. (Please click on the link to read our description for level-3 classes.)

If you need help evaluating your eligibility to drop in to one of our Once Weekly or Twice Weekly classes, or to make arrangements, please call the office at (206) 526-9642 (we are here between 9:00am and 2:00pm, Monday – Thursday) or e-mail us at (info@yogaseattle.com).
